Trustees
We looking for new Trustees to lead us into the next phase of our growth. Watch this video to learn more…
What do we want?
Trustees are people who make strategic decisions on behalf of a charity, we are those entrusted to act in its best interests. At imagine if theatre, we work together to support the Artistic Director and other staff to bring their vision for the charity to life.
We know we are not representative of the communities we serve, so are particularly excited to encourage first-time trustees to apply and are open-minded about what your background and experience might be. Currently, we have a finance specialist with a commercial background, someone from the arts sector, and someone with a governance background. If you have something you think might add to our discussions, we want to hear from you. Lived experience is just as critical as technical skills and we are particularly looking for people with lived experience of the care system. The most important thing we look for is passion for what we do; if you’re excited about our work, you are more likely to add to our conversations.
We are based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, so want to hear from the diverse geography of the region – there’s so much difference that just isn’t on our board right now!
What do you get?
We provide full training and support for all trustees and operate with inclusivity at the heart of all we do. We reimburse any out-of-pocket expenses for you completing your trustee duties, although our board meetings are all virtual at the moment. You will be making a difference to the lives of countless socially disadvantaged groups and helping us shape imagine if in its next evolution.
How do you apply?
For an informal chat about the role, and how you might contribute to the board, email our administrator, Kate on: admin@imagineiftheatre.co.uk. You can apply directly by sending a CV that outlines your professional, volunteering & life skills which might add value to our board, along with a cover letter showing your passion and personal commitment to our work to the same email address.
The new Trustees will support the Chair and the rest of the imagine if team in achieving our aims. The 2 core objectives of imagine if for the next 3 years are:
-
-
- To secure core funding for our Central Admin function so we can continue our work from a solid base.
- To expand our core team and board of trustees with more people with lived experience.
- Further develop and deliver our arts-based community programme igniting active change in the lives of young people with experience of the care system.
-
Deadline: Ongoing
Please send a CV and a one-page cover letter to admin@imagineiftheatre.co.uk
